The 29.7m (97ft) ocean racing trimaran IDEC has been an outstanding offshore performer in the very capable hands of Francis Joyon. Since launching in 2007 she has set three world records; a solo circumnavigation in 57 days, six hours, a 24-hour solo run of 666.2 miles averaging 27.75 knots and a solo transatlantic in five days, two hours.

Specifically built to regain the single-handed around the world record from Ellen MacArthur, IDEC has been designed for solo sailing with a successful balance between power and safety.

The lightness and simplicity in the layout and systems chosen by Joyon combined with the seaworthiness and performance of the Irens design have produced a truly remarkable yacht.
